Brock Osweiler's return to Denver was one he will want to forget, as the Broncos defeated Osweiler's Houston Texans, 27-9 in a one-sided match.

Osweiler started eight games for the Broncos last season, and was expected to become the team's starting quarterback after Peyton Manning's retirement. He decided to leave and join the Texans, after being offered a bigger contract.

On Monday night, the 25-year-old failed to throw a touchdown pass, and he averaged only 3.2-yards per throw. He also fumbled the ball on three separate occasions, losing it to the Broncos once.

The Texans led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, but touchdowns from CJ Anderson and Demaryius Thomas gave the Broncos a 14-6 halftime lead.

They went on to increase that lead in the third quarter through Devontae Booker, before two additional field goals secured the win.

The Broncos (5-2) remain in second in the AFC West. In the AFC South, the Texans remain the only team with a winning record. They're now 4-3.

Next Sunday, Denver welcome the San Diego Chargers to Colorado, while the Texans are at home to the Detroit Lions in Houston.
