A bunch of travelling English football fans picked the wrong people to challenge to a kick-about in Brazil.

Seeing the older, out-of-shape men having a kickabout on Rio's Copacabana beach, they thought they'd found an easy opportunity to win a few rounds of drinks.

Unfortunately for them, their football knowledge let them down - the older group consisted of former Croatian internationals, including Petar Krpan and Marko Babić, who have both played in previous World Cups. In they end, they were probably satisfied that it only ended 3 - nil.

One onlooker summed up the events: "The British had to buy the beers but consoled themselves with souvenir photos taken with the guys who thrashed them."
