British boxer and former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has had his boxing license suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control.

The move is subject to a pending investigation into his "anti-doping and medical issues" and the 28-year-old will now have to meet with the board before a decision is taken on whether he can fight again.

Fury was charged by the UK anti-doping agency in August of this year for the violation and has twice pulled out of rematches against Wladimir Kiltschko this year.

The move comes just hours after he vacated his WBO and WBA world heavyweight titles.

Earlier this month, Fury admitted he had taken cocaine to treat his depression and has cited mental illness as his inability to return to the ring, his condition rendering him medically unfit to compete.
