Derry pulled off something of a coup on Sunday when they beat All Ireland champions Dublin in the Allianz League.
The 1-16 to 0-13 win puts Derry in poll position for a NFL semi-final place and also means that they have retained their top division status.
Derry manager Brian McIver joined us on the line tonight and he is delighted with the continued progress made by this team which won the Division 2 title last year.
"This year we knew starting in Division 1 was going to be exceptionally competitive and we had a very difficult start with Tyrone, followed by Kerry. We got a draw with Tyrone in a game where we could have won it, played well down in Kerry, played well against Westmeath, started very poorly against Cork and then made a good recovery and then played very well last week against Dublin. So yeah, good progress to date," said McIver.
He also touched on the positional change for Mark Lynch and the welcome return of Fergal Doherty.
McIver also looked ahead to the "massive game" against 2011 and 2012 Ulster champions Donegal in their opening provincial match in the darling buds of May.
