Bray have taken a massive step towards remaining in the Airtricity League Premier Division with a 1-0 win over Limerick at the Carlisle Grounds.
Danny O’Connor was the match winner for The Seagulls with a header in first half injury time being enough to take a crucial 3 points.
Limerick made the task somewhat easier for Bray when Samuel Oji was sent off midway through the second half for a second booking. Bray dominated the game for the majority of proceedings and the win – their first in 15 games – will give them a much needed boost heading into their final two games, against Bohemians and Dundalk.
Bray are now 3 points ahead of Shelbourne, who drop to the bottom of the table, with just 2 games to go. The team finishing bottom of the league will be automatically relegated while the team finishing one spot ahead, in eleventh place, will face a play-off against the winners of the First Division play-off.
Bray may not even have to face a relegation play-off however as they are now just 3 points behind UCD, in tenth spot.
