Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas has been criticised for allowing his goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to continue playing, after being knocked out during yesterday's draw with Everton.
Romelu Lukaku's knee accidentally collided with the Frenchman's head late in the game.
But, despite needing medical attention and seemingly against the advice of some of his concerned team-mates, Lloris played on. Substitute keeper Brad Friedel was also kitted out and ready to come on before Lloris continued.
Brain injury charity Headway have said Spurs were "irresponsible" and showed a "cavalier attitude" to Lloris's health.
They said: "By continuing to play, the player may have caused greater damage to his brain. He should have been removed from the game immediately and taken to hospital for thorough tests and observation.”
AVB conceded that Lloris could not remember the incident involving Lukaku.
