Hull City have withdrawn Robbie Brady from Saturday’s international friendly against Georgia, as the winger is suffering from a groin injury.

Brady was expected to start the game had he been fit, however Hull City, who have been in consultation with the Irish team’s medical staff, have decided it is in Brady’s best interests to “undergo a period of structured rehabilitation to prevent the problem worsening” so that the player can properly prepare for the start of the Premier League season.

Brady did not make an appearance during Wednesday night’s friendly with England.

"Hull City released the following statement:

Robbie Brady has been withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad with a minor groin problem and will miss their upcoming fixtures against Georgia, Faroe Islands and Spain.

The Hull City medical staff have been in close consultation with the Republic of Ireland medical staff regarding Robbie and both feel that although he is able to train and play, albeit with some discomfort, it is in the player’s best interest to undergo a period of structured rehabilitation to prevent the problem worsening.

This will allow him the best chance to recover prior to the start of the Premier League season."
