Leinster say that they will give Mike Ross every chance to prove his fitness for next Saturday's Heineken Cup match-up with Castres at the RDS.
The Ireland prop limped off with a hamstring injury during last weekend's opening round victory away to the Ospreys and will continue to be monitored by the Leinster medical team this week ahead of Friday's team announcement.
Early reports suggested that he was a significant doubt for the Castres game.
Brian O'Driscoll's calf strain has continued to respond well to treatment and Leinster say that they are hopeful that he will be able to resume training later this week.
