From playing the Alfred Dunhill Links last weekend to meeting former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson last night,  Brian O'Driscoll has had a busy week.

Tonight, he was on Off The Ball as a guest presenter to talk through a number of topics including retirement.

He explained that he feels that he could have maybe continued on for another year from a physical point of view, but he is convinced he made the right decision as he would prefer to keep the high standards that he maintained during his illustrious career.

"Could I be a rugby player this season? I think I could. But would it be to the standard I'd hope? No, so that's why I retired," he said.

He also analysed last weekend's Pro 12 derby, saying that Leinster's rucking was poor against Munster and having been part of that team for so long, he went into the nitty gritty of Leinster's tactics and errors and felt Sean O'Brien and Cian Healy were badly missed.

Meanwhile, sports psychologist and Motiv8 managing director Enda McNulty popped into his studio to talk about a time when Brian sought his help when his confidence was on a lower rung.
