Earlier today we had Ashley Young catching what appeared to be bird droppings, or spit, or God knows what in his mouth while on the pitch during Manchester United's defeat to Swansea. And in the last few minutes we’ve had our second bizarre event of the Premier League opening day, as a fan at West Ham versus Spurs has taken a free kick, and hit the target.

The pitch invader was on the run from the trailing security guard when he deftly dinked the waiting free kick over the West Ham wall towards the top corner. It didn’t go in, but all in that’s not a bad effort under the circumstances.
