Ireland's Thomas Barr has narrowly missed out on a place in the Men's 400 metre hurdles final at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich.
Barr had been expected to challenge for a medal but could only manage a third place finish in his semi-final which just ruled him out of the medal race.
Amy Foster's championship is also over after finishing in 8th place in her 100-metre semi-final.
There are more Irish athletes in action later this evening, in the shape of 400-metre runners Brian Gregan and Richard Morrissey, along with Mark English in the 800-metre semi-finals.
Earlier this morning, Christine McMahon qualified for the semi-finals of the 400-metre hurdles by finishing third in her heat.
