Paul Barden has retired from inter-county football.

The 34-year-old Longford forward, who had been expected to play for one more year, has represented the county at senior level since 1999.

In 2000, he won the O'Byrne Cup, while he enjoyed league success in Division 3 and 4 in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

At club level, he has won three county titles with his club Clonguish.
