Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has tendered his resignation amid allegations that he misappropriated funds during Neymar's transfer to the club.
According to Rosell, Barcelona paid €57 million to acquire Neymar, but Barca socio Jordi Cases has alleged that the fee was in fact much higher with a lawsuit set to go before the Spanish High Court.
After today's club EGM, he spoke at a press conference where he explained his decision.
He said: "There have been threats and accusations which make you consider your position including the claim of misappropriation of funds and the court case. I've always stated that we acted correctly with the Neymar transfer."
Rosell's deputy Josep Maria Bartomeu will take over as president until 2016.
