Mario Balotelli has been charged by the Football Association in relation to a recent posting on social media.
He re-posted what he believed was an anti-racist message surrounding video game character Super Mario but it actually contained comments particularly offensive to black and Jewish people.
The Liverpool striker has until a week on Monday to respond to the charge.
