Rumours of a potential Real Madrid move for gareth Bale have gained significant traction, with the forward’s agent making an appearance on Spanish TV and talking about his willingness to listen to offers for the player.

The chairman of the Stellar Group, who represent Gareth Bale, appeared on Marca TV – a station known to have close ties with Real Madrid - of his willingness to “listen” to offers for the Spurs player, most notably to offers from Real Madrid.

There have been rumours of Madrid’s interest in Bale before, and the appearance of his agent on a media outlet such as Marca, is sure to worry Spurs.

"If Florentino [Pérez, the Real president] is interested in Gareth Bale, it would be an honour and we'd listen," Barnett said.

"But his contract is with Tottenham. We aren't free to talk with anybody at the moment, that's the point we're at.

"I can understand a lot of teams are interested in him. He's a great player but he has a contract with Tottenham. I don't know if there has been a bid [from Real]. What I do know is that the player has three years left on his contract."

Barnett went on to deny his client had opened talks with Spurs about a new contract.
