Holders Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in their FA Cup quarter final replay.

A cagy encounter, the game was decided at the start of the second half as Demba Ba acrobatically latched onto a lofted pass by Juan Mata and steered the ball past David De Gea to put Chelsea ahead.

United had a couple of chances of their own with Petr Cech in particular, pulling off a fine save from a goalward header from Javier Hernandez.

The result means Rafa Benitez' team advance to a semi-final meeting with 2011 champions Manchester City.
