Agreement has been reached to pave the way for the return of the Austrian Grand Prix to the Formula 1 calendar.

Last held in 2003, the race will take place at the famous A1 ring - now known as the Red Bull Ring - from next season.

The Red Bull racing team had been locked in discussions with F1 supermo Bernie Ecclestone, eventually getting his agreement.

Red Bull refurbished the old track which had held races from 1970 to 1987, and from 1997 to 2003.

The old circuit included some elevated sections with tight corners early on in the lap. Here is an on-board lap with seven time champion Michael Schumacher in 2002.
