Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has punished Jack Grealish after video footage emerged of his midfielder partying following a 4-0 loss at Everton at the weekend.

The Frenchman has ordered the former Ireland youth international to train with Villa's U21 squad as a response to the video which shows the 20-year-old at Manchester nightclub Panacea after the match.

It's not the first time the player, who recently declared for England at senior level, has been in the news for the wrong reasons.

During the summer, pictures of the Birmingham native passed out drunk in a Tenerife street were published in a tabloid newspaper. 

Garde, who replaced Tim Sherwood as manager last month, has recently spoken of Grealish's underwhelming form.

"Jack for me is a very gifted player with a lot of skill and quality but what I saw in the last few games he played was not the level he should have played. It is as simple as that. He needed more confidence and more structure in his game. He was running everywhere and then we tried to work on that and I have to say he has been very good in the training session these last two weeks," he said.
