Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has been charged by the Football Association over an abusive hand gesture he is alleged to have made during Saturday's Premier League loss at Manchester City.

The incident was caught on video, but was not seen by the match officials at the time.

The FA says its panel was unanimous that it should have been a sending-off offence.

The England international has got until six o'clock tomorrow evening to respond.
