Second place Manchester City closed the gap at the top of the Premier League table back to 15 points with a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Newcastle.

Carlos Tevez, David Silva, Vincent Kompany and YaYa Toure were all on target ahead of United and City's key meeting at Old Trafford on Monday April 8th.

Tottenham are up to third place after a 2-1 win away to Swansea.

Jan Vertonghen and a sweet strike from Gareth Bale proved the difference for Spurs.

However Chelsea dropped to fourth after a 2-1 defeat away to Southampton.

Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert were on target for the Saints while John Terry equalised for Chelsea.

Arsenal beat Reading 4-1 at the Emirates to move within two points of Chelsea and the Champions League places.

Gervinho, Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Mikkel Arteta got the all-important goals. 

Wigan have climbed out of the relegation zone thanks to a 1-0 win at home to Norwich.

Arouna Kone scored the winner to move them above Aston Villa.

Andy Carroll scored twice to give West Ham a 3-1 win at home to West Brom. 

The late game sees Everton host Stoke at Goodison Park.
