While the Provinces are returning the pre season training ahead of the season, the fans have very little to get excited about except for the launch of their new kits for the forthcoming season.

Munster are the first Irish side out of the traps for the year ahead and the Thomond Park faithful may see their heroes in an unusual colour this year. They have decided to wear black for their alternate jersey in a move that is sure to be popular with fans.

Munster have rarely stuck with an alternate colour in recent memory and have played in navy, grey and lime green in recent memory. The touch of red throughout the jersey sticks to their historical red.

While the alternate jersey may not be traditional, the home jersey certainly is. If its not broke, why fix it?

As they have done in recent years, the jerseys feature the names of all six Munster counties. The fans will hope that the jerseys become iconic if the team have a memorable season.
