Former two-time Major winner Andy North believes fatherhood has had a beneficial impact on Tiger Woods.

The American was speaking on Off The Ball tonight ahead of the Masters and touched on changes in the perception of the former World No 1.

"I think his children have had an awful lot to do with his growth. He's had to become a single parent and he's working hard to be a really good father. I commend him for that and I think it's softening him up and it's going to lead to a better person down the road," said North.

He also gave a take on his impressions of Woods' form on the course so far.

"From what I've seen over the last couple of days, he's looked very solid. It looks like he's swinging the club fairly well and I know he's worked very hard on his short game."

Joe and North also touched on the history of the course and the issue of black-only caddies provided by Augusta pre-1983, before looking ahead to the key contenders this weekend.
