Andy Murray took just an hour and 42 minutes to get his Wimbledon challenge off to the perfect start as he beat Liam Broady in straight sets.
The Scot ran out 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 winner this afternooon on Centre Court and made light work of the 22-year-old.
"I served well," Murray said. "Offensively I did pretty well, defensively I could have done a little better. It’s not that easy playing someone you know so well. We’re both just trying to win, but it doesn’t make it any easier."

Rain delays were a feature of the second day of action.
In the men's competition, there were wins for Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who beat Spaniard Inigo Cervantes 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 to in the Frenchman's opening game of the competition.
Australian Nick Kyrgios needed four sets to overcome Radek Stepanek, while Juan Martin Del Potro continued his return to tennis with a relatively straightforward 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 victory over Stephane Robert.

In the ladies singles, meanwhile, Svetlana Kuznetsova produced two fine rounds to knock out Caroline Wozniacki this evening.
Serena Williams also secured safe passage to the next round with victory over Amra Sadikovic.
