On Monday, United fanzine Red Issue made a number of sensational claims regarding the club in their latest issue.

Allegations included a fallout between beleagured manager David Moyes and his player-coach Ryan Giggs and Alex Ferguson "considering" a return.

There was even a story about Moyes' infuriating Rio Ferdinand with constant references about "how Phil Jagielka would do it".

Man United have denied the stories, while Giggs is also said to be furious about them. To talk about the situation at Old Trafford, we spoke to United We Stand fanzine editor Andy Mitten.

"There are several unhappy players at United. That's been clear throughout this season," said Mitten. "The Giggs stuff has been bubbling under for a while and it came out this week. Then United came out and denied it. I discussed this in private with some people close to the situation last week and they were saying maybe it's an idea for Ryan to come out and say something."

Mitten believes there are two versions of events - "the truth" and "what the club are briefing".

"I couldn't go to court and prove that Ryan Giggs and David Moyes don't have the relationship which is a perfect one. But I can understand why the club come out and say what they do because they want to portray an image of relative harmony even if that might not fully be the case. It's similar to the announcement from Robin Van Persie last week and Ruud Van Nistelrooy about six years ago, saying that everything's fine."

Yet as Andy Mitten reminded us, Van Persie made a similar comment about wanting to stay at Arsenal and still ended up leaving the club.

Indeed Mitten's "eyebrows are raised" when it comes Moyes' claims that the Dutchman is happy at Old Trafford.

Mitten also touched on the intelligence reports he has been getting from his sources at Man United and his journey to Iran where he met the country's manager and former United assistant Carlos Queiroz.
