An Post releases stamps to celebrate Irish animation industry

An Post has released a four stamp set celebrating the Irish animation industry.

The 68c stamps feature technology that enables them to show background information and  animated works when they are scanned by a smartphone.

A specially produced film featuring Roy, Give Up Yer Aul Sins, The Secret of Kells and Nelly and Nora, and other works can be seen. It was produced by the IFB, Animation Ireland and Enterprise Ireland.

Animation Ireland, which was established in 2006, is a group of Irish animation studios which collectively markets and promotes Irish wok in the industry. Irish films have been nominated for numerous awards including Oscars, BAFTAs and Emmys. Over 1,000 people are employed in the sector.
