''Tough times don't last but tough teams do.''

These were the words used by All-Ireland winning Cork captain Ashling Thompson to recognise the efforts of her Milford clubmates after they won the All-Ireland club final yesterday against Galway side Killimor in Croke Park.

Thompson injured her ankle in the final minutes of the game and unlike her last outing in Croke Park, where she remained on the pitch after suffering a concussion, this time she was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher while receiving oxygen.

But after the final whistle, her loyal teammates rallied to bring Thompson up the steps to see her side receive the winner's trophy.
