Alexander Levy stormed into a six-shot lead before play was suspended on day two of the Porsche European Open.

The Frenchman has almost completed two bogey-free rounds, which included 17 birdies and eight of those came today.

"It was really good," he told Nick Dye after his round this evening at the Golf Resort Bad Griesbach. "I told you this morning that I wanted to just go out there and enjoy my golf and that's what I did.

"I enjoyed my time with my caddie on the golf course. I played well, so it's always nice to be in a position like that.

"I finished well in my first round this morning, with two birdies in the last two holes. I started with three birdies in the three first holes. That's really nice and I think I'm in a good way."

Coming up behind him is German native Martin Kaymer who still has one hole remaining in his second round. He shot a seven under par round this afternoon to leave him on -11 for the day.

Paul Dunne is best of the Irish with eight holes remaining in his second round. The Greystones golfer finished on six under par, shooting one under today.

Elsewhere in the field, Michael Hoey was unable to start his second round so continues to sit on four under par.

Padraig Harrington and Ruaidhri McGee remain in a similar situation, they are level and two under par respectively for the tournament.
