Former horse trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni has withdrawn his appeal against an 8 year suspension from horse racing.
Al Zarooni was found guilty on April 25 of doping 15 horses at Godolphin stables in Newmarket. On May 7, despite admitting all charges, he said he intended to appeal the severity of the ban.
The BHA have now announced they have received confirmation from Al Zarooni’s solicitors that he has withdrawn his appeal of the ban’s severity.
The BHA tweeted: "BHA has received notice from the solicitors of Mahmood Al Zarooni that he has withdrawn his appeal regarding his eight-year disqualification."
