There were hints of a revival at the end, but the reality in Dunedin was an All Blacks win more comprehensive than the 1 point margin suggests.

The All Blacks won 28-27 over Stuart Lancaster’s side to take the series win, despite trailing 10-0 in the first half.

England led 10-6 at half time but three tries for the hosts in the second half erased the hope that had come from the strong first half performance. The visitors excelled in the first half but failed to make the most of that dominance, leaving the pitch at the break with just a 4 point try. As Smith, Savea and Nonu crossed in the second half the failure to make more of their first half will have haunted England.

The All Blacks built up a 28-13 lead with just 10 minutes left. Mike Brown and Chris Ashton crossed the line in the final 10 minutes to bring the gap down to 1 point, but even with the strongest of late surges the hosts lead never looked in doubt
