Sergio Aguero has admitted he will not rush his return from injury, as a premature return could see him aggravate the injury and miss the world Cup.

Aguero has not appeared for City in the Premier League since January but did play in the Champions League last 16, second leg against Barcelona. That appearance however saw him aggravate the injury and face another absence.

The Argentinean told DirecTv: "With this recovery I am trying to do my best to be able to play again, but I cannot do it in a hurry.

"I do think to myself if something happens now, I will lose the rest of the Premier League season and the World Cup.

"Aguero also spoke of his desire to win the Champions League with City, and that Manuel Pellegrini has told him he needs to win the Champions League with City before looking to play elsewhere.

"He says to me that I can't leave without winning a Champions League," said Aguero.

"That's the objective of each player in Europe."
