Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria will be available for selection for Argentina tonight, giving Leo Messi’s side a significant boost ahead of the World Cup final with Germany.
Di Maria has only returned to light training following a thigh injury and is unlikely to start the game, but he could be available on the bench. Aguero will be available to start, most likely replacing either Gonzalo Higuain or Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Should Aguero start it could see Argentina return to the original attacking line-up, as Aguero, HIguain and Messi started as a trio earlier in the tournament.
Germany are boosted by the news that centre back Mats Hummels is expected to be available, despite leaving the semi-final at half time. With the semi-final against Brazil already effectively concluded with Germany 5-0 up at half-time Hummels was replaced as a precaution against tendonitis.
