Tiger Woods' agent has denied that the former world number one failed a drugs test and is serving a suspension.

Woods recently took a break from the sport saying he wanted to concentrate on recovering from injury.

Former PGA Tour player Dan Olsen claimed the 14-time Major winner had been banned, before retracting his statement leading Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, and the PGA Tour’s executive vice-president, Ty Votaw, to issue denials.

Steinberg said: "These claims are absolutely, unequivocally and completely false.

"They are unsourced, unverified and completely ridiculous. The PGA Tour has confirmed that there is no truth to these claims."

"There is no truth whatsoever to these claims," said Votaw. "We can categorically deny these allegations."
