Sky Sports arriving into the world of gaelic games was always going to be contentious. Even though GAA President Liam O’Neill today admitted he was “shocked” by the “aggressive” nature of questioning he faced by RTE yesterday, there was little surprise overall that there was strongly expressed opposition to the deal.
In fact, if you’ve been paying attention to Irish sporting panics in recent years then you won’t have been surprised one bit by the flailing panic some people in Ireland can get themselves into when it comes to sporting controversies.
