Brazilian World Cup winner Rivaldo has come out of retirement to play for Brazilian second tier side Mogi Mirim.

The 1999 World Player of the Year is Club President at the Sao Paulo side and started last nights league game against Nautico at the age of 43.

The side won their first game in 11 outings, 2-1 but still remain at the bottom of Serie B.

After the game, Rivaldo said; "After one year and three months, I started training back again and went out to play at a match after just 20 days and that inspires any younger player” according to Reuters. 

The Brazilian legend is best remembered in Europe for his spell at Barcelona where he won the La Liga title on two occasions.
