The film, called simply Hitchcock, is due to be released in cinemas across Ireland from 8th February.

Alfred Hitchcock was the man behind some infamous films such as Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, Vertigo, North by Northwest, Psycho and The Birds.

The film follows the relationship of Alfred Hitchcock, played by Anthony Hopkins, and his wife Alma Reville, played by Helen Mirren, during the filming of Psycho in 1959.

Scarlett Johannson also appears as Janet Leigh, the star of Psycho.

Anthony says he found taking on the role of one of the UK's most influential directors daunting and reveals he fell in love with the movie Psycho when he first saw it many years ago:
