Claudio Ranieri has secured his fourth Premier League job.

The Italian has officially been announced as Watford's new head coach after they sacked Xisco Munoz on Sunday, after just 10 months in the job.

A brief statement from the club's board in relation to his departure referenced 'performances indicating a negative trend at a time when team cohesion should be visibly improving.'

Watford currently lie 15th in the table, level on points with Crystal Palace, after two wins and a draw in their first seven games.

Ranieri has now agreed to take over at Vicarage Road on a two-year deal.

He becomes the club's sixth different manager since 2015.

Ranieri will be joined at Watford by Assistant Coaches Paolo Benetti and Carlo Cornacchia, as well as Fitness Coach Carlo Spignoli.

His first match in charge of the Hornets will be at home to Liverpool on Saturday, 16 October 16.

Ranieri's most recent stint in the Premier League was with Fulham during the 2018/19 season when he won just three of his 17 matches in charge.

This came after he was sacked by Leicester City in February 2017, less than a year after guiding them to their only ever Premier League title.

He was also with Chelsea between 2000 and 2004.

Since Fulham, Ranieri has been in charge at Serie A sides Roma, for a second time, and Sampdoria.
