From Monday, July 13th, face masks will be mandatory on public transport here in Ireland.
The issue surrunding compliance with public health guidelines has been well documented both here and abroad but the debate around the wearing of face masks in pandemics is nothing new.
In fact recent discourse around the wearing of masks calls to mind the 'Anti Mask League of San Fransisco', whose protests during the Spanish Flu epidemic were sometimes attended by thousands.
