A red wind warning for 3 counties this morning with an orange warning in place for a further 9 counties. With all Schools and universities in the counties affected to remain closed. We got an update from around the country with John Donegan, Senior Engineer with Cork County Council,  Owen O’Shea, Communications Officer, Kerry County Council,

Adrian Kelly – Chief Fire Officer and member of the severe weather assessment team with Clare County Council. Our reporter Josh Crosbie reported live from Galway. We went to Waterford and heard from  Damien Tiernan – WLR FM presenter.

Minister for Education Norma Foley spoke to us as schools closed their doors for the day in the red and orange alert areas.
