Saturday the 31st of August 2019 marks 25 years since the Provisional IRA announced a "complete cessation of military operations'.

It would be another four years, and many more lives would be lost, before the signing of the Good Friday Agreement - however the 1994 ceasefire was a pivotal moment in the Northern Ireland peace process.
