A €10m package for the Defence Forces is reportedly being approved by Government this evening, once they meet at around 8 o’clock, when Leo returns from Brussels.

It’s seen as an attempt to stop members of the forces leaving the organisation amid a personnel crisis.

Minister with Responsibility for Defence Paul Kehoe referred the retention crisis to the Public Service Pay Commission in 2017, and received the report this year.

So does this look like a good move by the Government?

Security and defence analyst Declan Power told Ivan whether it was too little too late.
