Despite some opposition from retailers, Cabinet was expected to push ahead with alcohol minimum unit pricing.

But would it work here in Ireland?

Political scientist Eoin O’Malley doesn't necessarily think so, and he joined Kieran on The Hard Shoulder.  Chris Luke, Consultant in Emergency Medicine in Cork, also gave his views, explaining that we need to try it for the sake of public health.
