President Michael D Higgins spoke at Glasnevin Cemetery yesterday as part of the National Famine Commemoration 2021.

He spoke on the impacts of the famine on the Irish diaspora throughout the world, and particularly in the US, while drawing comparisons with the Middle East, and what is happening to the Palestinians, to how the Irish were treated during the Famine.
