Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe has decided to defer the valuation date for the tax from November this year to November next year.

This means that taxpayers will not have to face increased Local Property Tax bills for 2021.

But is it time to look at the Local Property Tax?  Should it be kept?  Is it the best way to collect tax on people’s assets?
