The atmosphere across England today was relief and delight, with headlines from The English Sun like ‘55 years of hurt never stopped Raheeming’, a reference to Raheem Sterling scoring and the last time England beat Germany in a major tournament was the 1966 World Cup. As well as the Euro 96 song Football’s Coming Home by Baddiel, Skinner and the Lightning Seeds. But here in Ireland, are we happy England have progressed to the quarter finals against Ukraine and could go on and win the whole Euros? England beat their old enemy Germany but are we happy our old enemy England is doing so well?Henry McKean has been out and about to ask.
