Ivan was in reflective mood twenty four hours on from the meeting at The Wirral between Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

He contended that if the positive sounds coming from Europe are true, and that a Brexit deal happens, then none of us should be surprised if Varadkar calls a General Election by the end of November.
