Hundreds of thousands of people live with rare conditions in Ireland.

Their needs are many and varied; including healthcare, education, employment and housing. 

While these diseases might be rare, collectively they are substantial.

In Ireland, over 300,000 live with an uncommon condition. 

Rare Disease Ireland are calling for a levelling of the health playing field post pandemic. 

 CEO of Rare Diseases Ireland,Vicky McGrath and Louise O’Keefe, whose daughter Ella lives with a rare disease, joined Kieran on Monday's edition of The Hard Shoulder to talk about the need for action when it comes to healthcare for those with rare diseases.
