On 29 March 2017, five years ago today, the UK invoked Article 50 of the Treaty on the European Union (TEU) which formally began the process of Brexit. 

Now, we were quite happy to reflect on that, but today, it was announced that twenty fixed penalty notices are to be issued for breaches of Covid rules after allegations of lockdown-breaking parties in Downing Street.
