The latest deadline for the formation of a new Stormont executive has passed as impasse continues due to the DUP’s refusal to renter power sharing due to the Northern Protocol.

However, the British government’s Northern Ireland secretary Chris Heaton-Harris has indicated that he will delay a decision on calling another election.
