The entire country has been left in shock and horror upon hearing the violent death of 23-year-old teacher Ashling Murphy in Tullamore on Wednesday evening. A man being held by gardaí in connection with the case was released from Garda custody last night and is no longer a suspect. Conor Feehan, Reporter with Independent News and Media joined us earlier with the latest on the investigation.

It is a shocking, shocking case and devastating for those close to Ashling.  Evelyn Mahon Professor Emeritus with the school of sociology and social policy at Trinity College Dublin and also Ivana Bacik Labour TD   spoke to us to discuss what changes can we make as a society to ensure Ireland is a safe place for women?
