Vaccine passes and compulsory mask-wearing could be extended beyond February after Taoiseach Micheál Martin got approval to create a new piece of legislation. The controversial Covid-19 emergency powers were due to expire on February 9, 2022. But now a single piece of legislation will give the Government the power to continue the measures if required.
